Target population

The target population belong to the class of people who reside in slums and have an income of less than and equal to Rs 2500 per capita income (PCI) per month. UIA is assessing the poverty level through a Poverty Assessment tool on a systematic way.

This tool has been designed to measure and track overtime the levels of poverty in families under UIA intervention. The process is aided by “UImpact” a Software designed to facilitate analysis of this study. The unit of study is the 'Family'. The Impact of micro-credit, micro-insurance and other UIA intervention is studied on the household as a whole. The tool is based on 7 levels of poverty. The parameters to calculate the level are a combination of both quantitative & qualitative indicators. Our target population has been fixed to be under level 3.
